Rearview Mirror
I have a Saturn SL1 2001, where can I buy only the mirrow for the rearview mirror? Can I change it myself?
I have a Saturn SL1 2001, the passenger-side rearview mirror is broken, I went to the dealership and the price is $200+, because they sale the whole thing not only the mirror. Anyone knows where can I buy only the mirror, and do you think I can replace it myself without special tools?
NEVER buy ANY parts from the dealer if you can help it. They're all over priced and the people are under trained. Try local junk yards. The parts are just as good, very cheap (I got an entire mirror assembly for $40), and you can buy paint at an auto store if you need it. Most times, especially if they are power windows, you're going to have to replace the entire unit. Replacing the whole unit is easier anyway, being that it's mostly plug-and-go installation. If you do decide to replace only the mirror itself, it may become time consuming, and not too much worth the effort. But, that is all about preference.
Good luck!
